Have you got an eyesore of a tree on your domestic property or commercial premise
s or is it just the “right tree, but in the wrong place”? Sometimes it is necessary to call upon professional tree felling services to safely remove a tree (or a range of trees!) from your property.
Thankfully, that’s us!
What is tree felling?
In its simplest form, tree felling is the process of cutting the tree at the base using directional felling techniques. However, most trees need to be dismantled and removed in sections due to their location with surrounding hazards. Our tree felling team assess each tree on site to determine the safest method before any cutting begins.
Why would someone need a tree felled?
There are many reasons why a domestic or business property owner may need some trees safely removed. Some common examples are to carry out extension work, to conduct additional landscaping, to move the right tree from the wrong place or to create a safer outdoor space.
Some trees may also need felling if they are diseased, damaged, or a danger to buildings and people.
What are the signs that a tree may need to be felled?
There may be obvious signs that a tree is diseased, or damaged, or in a location where it is unable to thrive.
However, if you spot any of the following signs on a tree near your property, you may want to think about calling in the professionals. Our tree specialists can offer advice as to whether felling is the appropriate solution.
You may need to invest in tree felling if…
- Your tree is leaning extremely close to the walls and windows of your building.
- Your tree has stopped producing new leaves and buds (this could be a sign of fatal damage).
- More than 25% of the tree’s branches are dead (this is another sign that the tree will not survive in its entirety for much longer).
- Does it look different to other similar trees, have you noticed any changes?
- There is visible fungus growing on the trunk and tree branches, along with mushrooms and fungi appearing around the base of the tree. This would suggest that a tree might have been compromised by a fungal disease.
- Your tree is leaning at an extreme angle. This could suggest that it is lacking adequate sunlight, or that its root plate is damaged.
If any of these signs point to an immediate risk – a tree already leaning dangerously, or storm damage – that’s a case for emergency tree removal in Essex rather than a scheduled felling appointment.
